Which Chinese high-speed train has a 350 km/h scheduled operating speed on selected routes?

The story behind the answer

The Fuxing Hao is the Chinese high-speed train assigned a 350 km/h scheduled operating speed on selected routes.

“Fuxing” means rejuvenation, and the train family was developed by China Railway Corporation with Chinese intellectual property and manufacturing. The first Fuxing services entered operation in 2017. The trains were designed for high-speed intercity travel, with improved monitoring, safety systems, passenger information, and onboard comfort compared with earlier generations.

The 350 km/h figure describes scheduled commercial operation on suitable infrastructure; it is not the maximum speed of every Fuxing service. Timetables, track conditions, weather, maintenance, and route design can result in lower operating speeds. The Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railway is associated with the return of 350 km/h scheduled services.

A frequent confusion is treating Fuxing as one single trainset. It is a family of train types, including different formations and versions. Earlier Chinese high-speed trains were commonly branded Hexie Hao, so the two names represent different stages of China’s high-speed railway development.
