Which character is the main rival racer in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is the main rival racer in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of high-tech racers whose advanced training and data-driven performance threaten the careers of established competitors. He quickly becomes Lightning McQueen’s most important racing rival in the film.

Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer in the English-language version. His sleek black-and-blue design contrasts with McQueen’s familiar red body and classic racing identity. The rivalry begins after McQueen struggles to keep pace with newer cars on the track.

The conflict leads McQueen to train with Cruz Ramirez, a racing trainer who eventually becomes central to the film’s ending. Cars 3 focuses on competition, mentorship, and how an experienced racer can contribute when the sport changes.
