Lucy Pevensie is the first human visitor to enter Narnia in C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She discovers the magical world by walking through a wardrobe while exploring the house.
Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus, a faun, and returns to tell her siblings about Narnia. At first, Edmund later follows her and encounters the White Witch, while Peter and Susan remain skeptical. The discovery eventually brings all four Pevensie children into the conflict surrounding Aslan and the Witch.
Lucy’s role is distinctive because she is both the first discoverer and the most consistently trusting of the siblings. The character’s name is sometimes confused with Susan’s or with the name of the actress who played Lucy in a film adaptation. In the 2005 film, Lucy was played by Georgie Henley, but the literary character was created by Lewis in the 1950 novel.
