Which character is played by Kevin Sussman?
Answer
Stuart Bloom
Answer
Stuart Bloom
Kevin Sussman plays Stuart Bloom in The Big Bang Theory.
Stuart is the socially awkward owner of the comic book store that becomes an important hangout for Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, and Raj. He first appears as a recurring supporting character and gradually becomes a larger part of the ensemble. His artistic talent, financial struggles, loneliness, and understated humor distinguish him from the four scientists.
Stuart’s comic book store connects the sitcom to the characters’ shared enthusiasm for comics, science fiction, fantasy, and collectibles. He also becomes increasingly involved in the group’s personal lives, including briefly living with Howard and Mrs. Wolowitz. His friendship with Howard develops further after Mrs. Wolowitz dies.
Sussman played Stuart from 2009 through the series finale in 2019. He was promoted to a series-regular role beginning with the sixth season. The distractors are other recurring characters: Bert Kibbler is a geologist, Leslie Winkle is a physicist, and Barry Kripke is a Caltech scientist with a distinctive speech impediment.
