Which character is known as the Ent who leads the attack on Isengard in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings?

The story behind the answer

The Ent who leads the attack on Isengard in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is Treebeard.

Treebeard, whose Elvish name is Fangorn, is one of the oldest beings in Middle-earth. He is an Ent, a tree-like shepherd created to protect the forests. Merry Brandybuck and Pippin meet him in Fangorn Forest after escaping from the Orcs who captured them.

At first, Treebeard is cautious about joining the conflict. After learning how Saruman’s forces have damaged forests and cut down trees, he calls an Entmoot, a gathering of the Ents. The Ents then march against Isengard, Saruman’s fortified stronghold, and overwhelm it by breaking its defenses and flooding the area.

Quickbeam is another Ent who participates in the story. Old Man Willow is a dangerous tree in the Old Forest, not an Ent, while Tom Bombadil is a separate and mysterious figure. Treebeard’s role combines ancient memory, environmental themes, and military action in the narrative.
