Jake and Neytiri’s older son who appears in visions is Neteyam.
Neteyam is the eldest child of Jake Sully and Neytiri and the older brother of Lo’ak and Tuktirey (“Tuk”). Jamie Flatters portrays the teenage version of the character. Neteyam is introduced as a responsible older sibling who often tries to protect his family, especially during the conflict with the RDA in Avatar: The Way of Water.
Neteyam dies during the climactic battle aboard the sinking whaling vessel in The Way of Water. His death profoundly affects the Sully family and becomes a major emotional thread in Fire and Ash. Although he is no longer alive, the character appears in visions and spiritual imagery, making him part of the sequel’s story without returning as a living member of the family. Lo’ak is his younger brother, not the older son.
