Which character in Street Fighter II performs the 'Hundred Hand Slap'?

The story behind the answer

E. Honda performs the “Hundred Hand Slap” in Street Fighter II.

E. Honda, whose full name is Edmond Honda, is a Japanese sumo wrestler and one of Street Fighter II’s original eight playable characters. His design represents Japan through sumo wrestling, traditional face paint, and a distinctive yukata-inspired outfit. In the game’s story, Honda enters the World Warrior tournament to prove that sumo is a powerful international fighting style.

The Hundred Hand Slap is a rapid series of palm strikes delivered so quickly that Honda’s hands appear to multiply. Its Japanese name, Hyakuretsuharite, refers to a barrage of repeated hand strikes. The move reflects the forceful pushing and striking associated with sumo, while giving Honda a fast attack despite his large frame.

A common mix-up is confusing it with Honda’s Sumo Headbutt, another signature move in which he launches himself horizontally at an opponent. Blanka, Zangief, and Dhalsim have no canonical connection to the Hundred Hand Slap.
