“Advice from a Caterpillar” is the title of Chapter V of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

In this chapter, Alice meets the hookah-smoking Caterpillar, who is seated on a mushroom and repeatedly asks, “Who are you?” Their conversation focuses on Alice’s uncertainty about her identity after the many size changes she has experienced.

The Caterpillar explains that different parts of the mushroom can make Alice larger or smaller. Alice carefully breaks off pieces, though controlling her height proves difficult.
