Which Caribbean island's Carnival is called 'Crop Over'?

The story behind the answer

Which Caribbean island's Carnival is called “Crop Over”? Barbados.

Crop Over is Barbados’s major annual carnival and harvest festival. Its roots reach back to 1687, when celebrations marked the end of the sugar-cane harvest on plantations. The festival later declined during the disruptions of the Second World War, but it was revived as a national event in the 1970s.

The modern festival runs through the summer and culminates in Grand Kadooment, a large costumed parade featuring music, dancing and masquerade. Although Crop Over is distinctly Barbadian today, harvest celebrations with related traditions also existed elsewhere in the Caribbean, including Trinidad, Jamaica and Saint Vincent.

A common mix-up is treating Crop Over as simply another name for Trinidad Carnival. Both are Caribbean carnival traditions, but Crop Over belongs specifically to Barbados and combines carnival-style celebration with the historical end-of-harvest observance.
