The Mercedes-AMG One held the production-car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife as of 2024.

The hybrid hypercar first set the official record on October 28, 2022, with a time of 6:35.183. Mercedes-AMG returned to the circuit in September 2024, when Maro Engel improved the mark to 6:29.090 over the full 20.832-kilometre Nordschleife. That made the AMG One the first road-legal production car to complete the course in under six and a half minutes.

The AMG One is unusual because its powertrain draws heavily from Formula 1 technology. It combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 with four electric motors, producing more than 1,000 horsepower. Its aerodynamic package, carbon-fibre construction and active suspension are designed for extreme track performance.

A common mix-up is the Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a Manthey Performance Kit, which recorded 6:43.300 in 2021 and was previously the production-car benchmark. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and Porsche 911 GT2 RS also set major Nürburgring records, but neither held the overall production-car record in 2024.
