Andre De Grasse won silver behind Usain Bolt in the 2016 Olympic 200 metres.

The final took place on 18 August 2016 at Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Stadium. Bolt won in 19.78 seconds, while De Grasse finished second in 20.02. France’s Christophe Lemaitre took bronze after a very close finish.

De Grasse had already won bronze in the 100 metres earlier in the Games, making him one of Canada’s leading sprint stars in Rio. He also set a Canadian record of 19.80 seconds while finishing second to Bolt in the semifinal.
