Which building in Surat, India, became the world's largest office building when it opened in 2023?

Surat Diamond Bourse became the world's largest office building when it opened in 2023.

The complex is located in Khajod, on the outskirts of Surat, Gujarat, a major global center for diamond cutting and polishing. It was designed to bring thousands of diamond businesses into one purpose-built commercial campus.

The project contains nine interconnected towers arranged around a central spine. Its scale reflects Surat's importance to the international diamond trade, especially the cutting and polishing of rough diamonds imported from around the world.

People sometimes confuse the building's title with the tallest-building title. Surat Diamond Bourse is recognized for having the world's largest office area, while skyscraper records usually concern height. The complex is also notable because it was planned as a specialized real-estate development rather than a general corporate office district.
