Which breakfast cereal claims to be "kid-tested, mother-approved"?

The story behind the answer

The breakfast cereal that claimed to be “kid-tested, mother-approved” is Kix.

General Mills introduced Kix in 1937 as a puffed corn cereal. Its famous advertising slogan, “Kid Tested. Mother Approved.”, was introduced in 1978 and became one of the most recognizable cereal taglines in American advertising. Commercials emphasized that children enjoyed the taste while mothers appreciated the cereal’s simple ingredients and lack of artificial colors and flavors.

The wording later changed to “Kid Tested. Parent Approved.” in 2018, reflecting more inclusive language. That update sometimes causes confusion when people remember the older slogan, but the cereal brand remained Kix. Kix also expanded beyond its original version with varieties including Berry Berry Kix, introduced in 1992, and Honey Kix, introduced in 2009.
