Which brand launched the first commercially available mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X?

The story behind the answer

Motorola launched the first commercially available mobile phone, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X.

Motorola engineer Martin Cooper made the first handheld cellular telephone call in 1973 using an early DynaTAC prototype. A decade later, the DynaTAC 8000X became the first commercially available handheld cellular phone when it was approved in the United States in 1983.

The 8000X was large and expensive by modern standards. It weighed about 785 grams, offered roughly 30 minutes of talk time, and required about 10 hours to recharge. Its launch price was 3,995 US dollars, a figure that made the device a luxury purchase rather than a mass-market product.

The DynaTAC was different from earlier car phones because it was designed to be carried and used without a vehicle connection. Later generations became smaller, cheaper, and more practical, transforming mobile communication.
