Which Beyoncé song features the lyric and title “Run the World (Girls)”?

Beyoncé’s song titled “Run the World (Girls)” is the lead single from her 2011 album 4.

The track was released in April 2011 and was written by a large group of songwriters and producers, including The-Dream, Beyoncé, and Switch. Its production incorporates elements from Major Lazer’s “Pon de Floor,” giving the song a heavily rhythmic, dance-oriented sound.

The accompanying music video was directed by Francis Lawrence and features Beyoncé leading a large group of dancers in a stylized desert setting. The choreography and visual presentation emphasized power, movement, and collective female energy.

The song is sometimes confused with Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women, Part I,” which also became associated with female empowerment. “Run the World (Girls)” is a Beyoncé solo recording and appears on 4, not on a Destiny’s Child album.
