Which beverage company owns the Minute Maid brand?

The story behind the answer

The beverage company that owns the Minute Maid brand is The Coca-Cola Company.

Minute Maid began in 1945 as Florida Foods, a company developing ways to preserve orange juice. Its breakthrough was frozen orange-juice concentrate, which allowed juice to be transported and sold far from citrus-growing regions while retaining a fresh taste. The company adopted the Minute Maid name in 1949.

Coca-Cola purchased Minute Maid in 1960, and the brand later became part of Coca-Cola’s broader juice and beverage operations. Although Minute Maid is strongly associated with orange juice, it also sells lemonade, fruit drinks and other products. It is therefore easy to mistake Minute Maid for an independent beverage company or to confuse it with PepsiCo, but its corporate parent is Coca-Cola.
