Which band's drummer is Dave Lombardo?
Answer
Slayer
Answer
Slayer
Dave Lombardo is the drummer most closely associated with Slayer. He co-founded the California thrash metal band with guitarist Kerry King, guitarist Jeff Hanneman, and bassist Tom Araya in the early 1980s.
Lombardo played on several of Slayer’s defining records, including Reign in Blood (1986), South of Heaven (1988), and Seasons in the Abyss (1990). His fast, forceful double-bass technique helped shape the extreme-metal drumming style that later influenced death metal and other aggressive subgenres.
His career was not limited to Slayer. Lombardo also played with Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Fantômas, Grip Inc., Mr. Bungle, Dead Cross, and other projects. That broad résumé can cause confusion, especially because Testament is one of the incorrect choices and Lombardo did briefly perform with that band. However, Slayer is the canonical answer to this question because he is best known as a founding member and longtime drummer of the group.
