Which author wrote the 'Harry Bosch' series?

Michael Connelly wrote the Harry Bosch series. Bosch—whose full name is Hieronymus Bosch—is a fictional Los Angeles detective whose cases anchor one of the best-known modern police-procedural series.

The character debuted in Connelly’s 1992 novel The Black Echo. Bosch begins as an LAPD detective, and the books follow his investigations into murders, corruption and institutional failures. Although he is a disciplined investigator, he is also famously stubborn and willing to challenge superiors when he believes the official system is protecting the wrong people.

Connelly named the character after the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, whose disturbing religious works depict sin and punishment. The nickname Harry is also a nod to Dirty Harry Callahan, the fictional police officer played by Clint Eastwood.
