Answer

Which author created the detective Miss Marple? Agatha Christie created her.
Miss Jane Marple first appeared in “The Tuesday Night Club,” a short story published in The Royal Magazine in December 1927. Christie later included the story in The Thirteen Problems, published in book form in 1932.
Marple is an elderly amateur sleuth from the fictional English village of St Mary Mead. Her seemingly ordinary observations of village life help her recognize patterns of jealousy, deception, and violence. Christie drew partly on her grandmother and her grandmother’s circle, though she described Marple as more fussy and spinsterish than her grandmother.
A common mix-up is confusing Marple with Hercule Poirot, Christie’s other famous detective. Poirot is a Belgian professional detective who relies on formal reasoning, while Marple solves crimes through intuition, social knowledge, and comparisons with human behavior. Her first full-length novel was The Murder at the Vicarage, published in 1930.
