Which Assassin's Creed protagonist is a Florentine nobleman who appears in the Ezio trilogy?

The story behind the answer

Ezio Auditore is the Florentine nobleman who stars in Assassin's Creed's Ezio trilogy.

Ezio begins as a young Florentine aristocrat in Assassin's Creed II, set mainly in Renaissance Italy. After his family is betrayed and executed, he is drawn into the Assassin Brotherhood and spends decades opposing Templar conspiracies.

His story continues in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which focuses on Rome, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which follows his journey to Constantinople and connects his life with Altaïr's legacy. These three games form the series' best-known protagonist trilogy.

Ezio is not the same character as Altaïr, the hero of the first game, or Arno Dorian, the French Assassin in Unity. His full name is often written with the Italian place-name style “da Firenze.”
