Which Assassin's Creed game stars Aveline de Grandpré as its protagonist?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation stars Aveline de Grandpré as its protagonist.

Ubisoft Sofia developed Liberation as a PlayStation Vita companion game to Assassin's Creed III. It was released in 2012 and is set mainly in 18th-century New Orleans, with additional locations including the Louisiana bayou and a fictionalized Chichén Itzá.

Aveline is an Assassin of African and French heritage who opposes Templar influence in colonial Louisiana. Her story spans 1765 to 1780, placing it during the period of political upheaval surrounding the American Revolution, although its setting and narrative focus differ from Assassin's Creed III.

Liberation is notable because Aveline was the first female protagonist in the main Assassin's Creed game series. Her disguise system lets her switch among an Assassin outfit, an aristocratic lady's dress, and an enslaved-worker persona, each providing different abilities and social access. The game was later remastered for other platforms as Assassin's Creed Liberation HD.
