Which Assassin's Creed game is set primarily in Rome and follows Ezio after Assassin's Creed II?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the game set primarily in Rome and following Ezio after Assassin's Creed II.

Released in 2010, Brotherhood continues Ezio Auditore's story after the events of Assassin's Creed II. Its main open-world setting is Rome, where the Borgia family controls much of the city. Ezio works to weaken that control, rebuild the local Assassin Brotherhood, and confront Cesare Borgia.

Brotherhood introduced a major recruitment and management system. Ezio can recruit citizens, train them, and call Assassin allies during missions. The game also expanded the series' multiplayer mode, which used the same broad stealth-and-pursuit concept in competitive matches.

The title is sometimes confused with Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which is the next major chapter in Ezio's life and is set mainly in Constantinople. Brotherhood is also distinct from Assassin's Creed II, whose story moves through several Italian cities rather than focusing chiefly on Rome.
