Which Assassin's Creed game introduces the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed II introduces the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Released in 2009, Assassin's Creed II begins Ezio's story in Florence during the Italian Renaissance. He starts as a young nobleman whose family is caught in a political conspiracy, then becomes an Assassin and pursues those responsible across several Italian cities.

The game expanded the original formula with a larger world, economic systems, additional weapons, and a broader range of social and historical characters. Its locations include Florence, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Forlì, Venice, and the Vatican City area of Rome.

Ezio's story continues in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Those games are sometimes grouped together as the Ezio trilogy, but Assassin's Creed II is specifically the title that introduces him and establishes his transformation from nobleman to Assassin.
