Which Assassin's Creed game follows Ezio Auditore's rise from nobleman to Assassin?

Assassin's Creed II follows Ezio Auditore's rise from nobleman to Assassin.

Released in 2009, Assassin's Creed II begins in Renaissance Florence and follows Ezio after a political conspiracy destroys his family. His personal pursuit of those responsible gradually becomes an initiation into the Assassin Brotherhood and a wider conflict with the Templars.

The game visits several Italian locations, including Florence, Venice, Monteriggioni, and Forlì. It expanded substantially on the original game's systems by adding economic management, improved equipment, more varied missions, and a larger range of historical characters.

Ezio's story continues directly in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations. Those games are sometimes grouped together as the Ezio trilogy, but Assassin's Creed II is the installment that depicts his transformation from young aristocrat into a trained Assassin.
