Armenia’s flag is a horizontal tricolor of red, blue, and orange. The three bands are equal in width, with red at the top, blue in the middle, and orange at the bottom.
The design is commonly called the Armenian tricolor. It was used by the First Republic of Armenia, which existed from 1918 to 1920, and was officially readopted on 24 August 1990 as Armenia moved toward independence from the Soviet Union. The flag became the symbol of the modern Republic of Armenia.

Blue represents peaceful skies, while orange symbolizes the talent and hard work of the Armenian people. Interpretations have varied over time, but these themes are widely cited.
The most frequent mix-up is with nearby flags that also use red and blue. Russia’s tricolor includes white instead of orange, Azerbaijan’s includes green and a crescent with an eight-pointed star, and Georgia’s flag is white with red crosses.
