Which artist won the most awards at the 2025 MTV VMAs?

Lady Gaga won the most awards at the 2025 MTV VMAs, taking home four trophies.

Gaga’s haul included Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars for “Die with a Smile,” Best Direction for “Abracadabra,” and Best Art Direction for the same video. Her four wins made her the ceremony’s leading individual winner.

The 2025 VMAs were held on September 7 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. Gaga entered the show as the leading nominee with 12 nominations, followed by Bruno Mars with 11 and Kendrick Lamar with 10. Her results converted that strong nomination showing into the night’s biggest award total.

The result is easy to confuse with the artists who won the ceremony’s headline categories. Ariana Grande won Video of the Year and Best Pop for “brighter days ahead,” while Sabrina Carpenter also collected three awards. But Gaga’s four trophies were the highest overall total.
