Eminem won Best Rap Album at the 2015 Grammy Awards for The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was Eminem’s eighth studio album and was released in November 2013. It served as a sequel in title and concept to his acclaimed 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP. The later album combined autobiographical writing with aggressive technical rapping and production influenced by several periods of his career.
At the 57th Grammy Awards, the album won Best Rap Album. Eminem also won Best Rap Performance for “Rap God,” a track known for its dense rhyme patterns and exceptionally rapid delivery.
The victory was Eminem’s second win in the Best Rap Album category. His earlier win came for The Slim Shady LP at the 2000 Grammy Awards. The category recognizes an album rather than an individual song, so the award is distinct from Best Rap Song or Best Rap Performance.
