Which ancient wonder is the oldest of the Seven Wonders?
Answer
Great Pyramid of Giza
Answer
Great Pyramid of Giza
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the traditional Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The pyramid was built in Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops, around the 26th century BCE. It originally stood about 146.6 metres high and was the tallest human-made structure in the world for roughly 3,800 years.
Constructed from millions of stone blocks, the Great Pyramid formed the central monument of Khufu’s pyramid complex at Giza. Most of its smooth outer limestone casing was later removed, leaving the stepped core visible today. Its surviving scale reflects the organizational power and technical knowledge of ancient Egypt.
The other six wonders have disappeared through earthquakes, fire, war, or gradual destruction. The Great Pyramid is the only traditional wonder still substantially standing, although it has lost its original capstone and outer casing.
