Which ancient structure in Egypt was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu?

The story behind the answer

The Great Pyramid of Giza was built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu.

Also called the Pyramid of Cheops, it was constructed at Giza during Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty, probably in the twenty-sixth century BCE. Khufu ruled from approximately 2589 to 2566 BCE, and the pyramid formed the centerpiece of his funerary complex.

The structure originally stood about 146.6 metres high, although erosion and the loss of its outer limestone casing reduced its height to about 138.5 metres today. It remained the tallest human-made structure in the world for thousands of years.

The Great Pyramid is the only surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is often confused with the Great Sphinx, a separate monument nearby, and with the smaller pyramids built for Khufu’s successors Khafre and Menkaure.
