Which airline operated the first scheduled passenger flight of the Airbus A380 in 2007?

The story behind the answer

Singapore Airlines operated the first scheduled passenger flight of the Airbus A380 in 2007.

The inaugural service took place on 25 October 2007, flying from Singapore Changi Airport to Sydney Airport. Singapore Airlines was the A380’s launch customer, making the flight a major milestone for both the airline and Airbus.

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body aircraft designed for high-capacity long-haul routes. Its size led airlines to introduce distinctive cabin layouts, including private suites, onboard lounges, and expanded premium cabins. Singapore Airlines used the first A380 service to showcase its premium travel products.

Emirates later became the largest operator of the A380, but it did not operate the first scheduled passenger flight. Qantas, Lufthansa, and other airlines also became important A380 operators. The aircraft’s commercial era began with Singapore Airlines before spreading to major international hubs.
