Zoe Saldaña reprises the role of Neytiri in Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Neytiri is an Omaticaya Na’vi warrior who first encounters Jake Sully in Avatar. Their relationship develops from distrust into love, and she becomes Jake’s wife and a central defender of Pandora. After the events of the first film, she remains one of the franchise’s principal characters.

In Avatar: The Way of Water, Neytiri and Jake leave the forest territories of the Omaticaya and seek refuge with the reef-dwelling Metkayina. Fire and Ash continues the story of their family while exploring Neytiri’s grief, anger, and changing relationship with humans after the death of her son Neteyam.

Saldaña’s performance combines acting, voice work, and performance capture for the digitally created character. Sigourney Weaver is also part of the sequel cast, but she plays Kiri and reprises the spirit of Dr. Grace Augustine—not Neytiri. Kate Winslet plays Ronal, while Oona Chaplin plays Varang.
