Which actor voices Mater in Pixar’s Cars trilogy?

Larry the Cable Guy voices Mater in Pixar’s Cars trilogy.

Mater is a rusty tow truck from Radiator Springs and Lightning McQueen’s closest friend. His humor, enthusiasm, and distinctive rural-speaking style make him one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.

Larry the Cable Guy is the stage name of comedian Daniel Lawrence Whitney. He provided Mater’s voice in Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3, as well as in related short films and television projects. The performance helped make Mater a leading character rather than merely a comic sidekick.

Mater’s role expands notably in Cars 2, where he is mistaken for an American spy during the World Grand Prix. Despite his lack of formal spy training, his unusual behavior and practical knowledge help him uncover the conspiracy.
