Which actor voices Doc Hudson in Pixar’s Cars?

Paul Newman voices Doc Hudson in Pixar’s Cars.

Doc Hudson is the town’s judge and physician in Radiator Springs, but he has a hidden past as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. He was once a celebrated Piston Cup racer before a crash caused him to be pushed aside by newer competitors.

Doc initially distrusts Lightning McQueen because Lightning’s arrogance reminds him of the racing world that abandoned him. As Lightning learns to respect Radiator Springs, Doc gradually becomes his mentor and helps him understand racing beyond speed and fame.

Paul Newman was a major American actor and a successful race-car driver in real life. His interest in motorsport made the role especially fitting. Cars was Newman’s final feature-film voice role, and the film was dedicated to him after his death in 2008.
