Which actor voiced Red in The Angry Birds Movie?
Answer
Jason Sudeikis
Answer
Jason Sudeikis
Jason Sudeikis voiced Red in The Angry Birds Movie. He supplied the voice for the film’s central red bird, a hot-tempered and isolated character who becomes an unlikely hero.
Red is one of the best-known characters from the Angry Birds game series, but the movie expanded his personality and backstory. In the film, he lives away from the main community on Bird Island and is sent to anger-management classes after an outburst. His distrust of the visiting pigs eventually leads him to investigate their real intentions.
Sudeikis was already known for comedy and improvisation when he took the role. His dry, sarcastic delivery helped distinguish Red from Chuck, voiced by Josh Gad, and Bomb, voiced by Danny McBride. The contrast among those three voices forms much of the movie’s comedic rhythm.
Viewers sometimes confuse Bill Hader with Red because Hader is also prominent in the cast. Hader voices Leonard, the charismatic green pig who presents himself as friendly while concealing the pigs’ plan. Sudeikis returned as Red for The Angry Birds Movie 2 and was later reported to reprise the character in the third film.
