Which actor plays Gina Linetti?

Chelsea Peretti plays Gina Linetti in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the civilian administrator and Captain Holt’s assistant at the fictional 99th Precinct.

Gina is Jake Peralta’s childhood friend and one of the precinct’s most distinctive personalities. She is famously devoted to dancing, social media, and her own self-image, while often treating her colleagues with playful indifference. Her outsider status as a civilian gives her a different perspective from the detectives and frequently lets her solve problems in unconventional ways.

Peretti was a series regular through much of the show’s run. Gina temporarily leaves during season five because of maternity leave, a storyline written around Peretti’s real-life pregnancy. In season six, Gina leaves the precinct to build an online brand, including her web show, “The G-Hive,” but returns for the series finale.

A common mix-up is confusing Gina’s actor with Melissa Fumero, who plays Detective Amy Santiago, or Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Detective Rosa Diaz. Peretti is also known for writing and performing comedy outside the series.
