Which actor played Major Garland Briggs in Twin Peaks?

Don S. Davis played Major Garland Briggs in Twin Peaks.

Major Briggs is a military officer and the father of Bobby Briggs. He becomes connected to the series’ supernatural and mysterious storylines through his encounters with unusual phenomena and his knowledge of classified investigations.

Davis brought authority and restraint to a character who often stands between the ordinary world and the show’s stranger mythology. Major Briggs is also important to Bobby’s development, since their difficult relationship gradually becomes more understanding and emotionally significant.

Don S. Davis had a military background before building a career as an actor and teacher. International audiences may also recognize him as General George Hammond in Stargate SG-1. His background helped him convincingly portray Major Briggs as a disciplined military professional rather than simply another eccentric resident of Twin Peaks.
