Which actor played Henry Knight in The Hounds of Baskerville?
Answer
Russell Tovey
Answer
Russell Tovey
Russell Tovey played Henry Knight in “The Hounds of Baskerville.”
Henry is the troubled client who contacts Sherlock Holmes and John Watson after seeing what appears to be a monstrous hound on Dartmoor. Twenty years earlier, he witnessed the death of his father, an experience that left him traumatised and convinced that the creature had returned.
The episode is the second instalment of Sherlock’s Series 2 and was written by Mark Gatiss. It modernises Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel “The Hound of the Baskervilles” by replacing the traditional supernatural menace with military research, hallucinogenic gas and a conspiracy at the Baskerville testing facility.
Viewers sometimes confuse Henry Knight with Sir Henry Baskerville, the endangered heir in Doyle’s original novel. They are related adaptations rather than the same character. The episode also features Clive Mantle as Dr Bob Frankland, while Paul McGuigan directed the instalment.
