Which actor played Harry Potter in all eight J.K. Rowling Harry Potter films?

The story behind the answer

Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter in all eight J.K. Rowling Harry Potter films.

Radcliffe portrayed the central character from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, released in 2001, through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, released in 2011. He was cast as Harry while still a child and grew up during the decade-long production of the film series.

The eight films adapted Rowling’s seven main novels. The final book was split into two films, explaining why the screen series has eight installments rather than seven. Radcliffe’s performance made him internationally famous and closely associated him with the character.

Rupert Grint played Ron Weasley and Emma Watson played Hermione Granger, Harry’s two closest friends. Tom Felton played Draco Malfoy. These roles are sometimes confused in quick quizzes because the young cast appeared together throughout the series, but Radcliffe is the actor who played Harry in every film.
