Omar Epps played Eric Foreman, a member of House’s original diagnostic team.
Foreman is a neurologist whose intelligence and ambition make him one of the strongest physicians on House’s team. He often resists House’s methods while still learning from them, creating a professional rivalry that develops over the course of the series. Foreman’s background and disciplinary history also distinguish him from the other original fellows.
Epps was part of the main cast from the 2004 premiere through the series finale. His performance tracked Foreman’s progression from subordinate fellow to senior physician and administrator. Foreman eventually becomes director of diagnostic medicine and later takes a major leadership role at Princeton-Plainsboro.
Omar Epps had already built a film and television career before House M.D., with credits including Juice, Higher Learning, and the television series ER. His House role is sometimes mixed up with those earlier medical-drama appearances, but Foreman is specifically the neurologist on House’s original team.
