Omar Epps played Dr. Eric Foreman in all eight seasons of House M.D. Foreman begins as one of House’s original diagnostic fellows and later develops into a senior physician and hospital leader.
Foreman is a neurologist, giving House’s team specialist expertise in disorders of the brain and nervous system. His disciplined, ambitious approach often clashes with House’s rule-breaking methods, although Foreman also shares House’s willingness to pursue difficult diagnoses.
The character’s career changes repeatedly during the series. He leaves Princeton-Plainsboro for another position, returns, and eventually becomes dean of medicine near the end of the show. His professional growth is one of the clearest long-term arcs among the original team members.
Omar Epps is sometimes confused with Kal Penn or Jesse Spencer because all three played prominent doctors on House. Penn played Lawrence Kutner, while Spencer played Robert Chase. Epps alone portrayed Eric Foreman, a core member of the original diagnostic team.
