Which 2011 film soundtrack features Bruno Mars's song It Will Rain?

Bruno Mars’s “It Will Rain” appears on the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

The song was released on September 27, 2011, as the lead single from the soundtrack for the fourth film in the Twilight series. The soundtrack album followed on November 8, 2011, with “It Will Rain” included among songs by artists such as Christina Perri, Iron & Wine, and Sleeping at Last.

Mars began writing the song while touring with the Hooligans in Wondaland. After watching an early version of the film, he returned to the unfinished idea and completed it to match the story’s darker romantic atmosphere. The song was also used during the film’s end credits and became one of the soundtrack’s best-known tracks.

The title can cause confusion because Twilight films have separate soundtrack albums for Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. “It Will Rain” belongs specifically to Breaking Dawn – Part 1, not Eclipse or New Moon. Commercially, it reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified multi-platinum in the United States.
