Which 1994 single by Boyz II Men spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100?

Boyz II Men’s 1994 single “I’ll Make Love to You” spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Written by Babyface and released as the lead single from the group’s second album, “II,” the smooth ballad became one of Boyz II Men’s signature recordings. It reached No. 1 on August 27, 1994, and remained at the top for a total of 14 weeks.

The achievement was especially notable because it surpassed the group’s own 13-week record set by “End of the Road” in 1992. “I’ll Make Love to You” also tied Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” for the longest Hot 100 reign at that point.

Another common mix-up involves “One Sweet Day,” Boyz II Men’s collaboration with Mariah Carey. That later single spent 16 weeks at No. 1 and eventually surpassed “I’ll Make Love to You.” After its run ended, “On Bended Knee” replaced it at the top, making Boyz II Men only the third act to succeed itself at No. 1.
