Which 1992 SNES game began the Super Star Wars series?
Answer
Super Star Wars
Answer
Super Star Wars
The 1992 SNES game that began the Super Star Wars series was Super Star Wars.
Based on the 1977 film, Super Star Wars was developed by LucasArts and Sculptured Software and published by JVC Musical Industries for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It combines side-scrolling run-and-gun action with platforming, vehicle stages, and scenes inspired by the film’s major events.
Luke Skywalker is the primary early character, but later stages let players control Han Solo and Chewbacca, each with different abilities. The game also includes landspeeder and X-wing sequences, while Luke can acquire a lightsaber after meeting Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The two direct SNES sequels followed the films’ chronology: Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back arrived in 1993, and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi followed in 1994. Star Wars Arcade is a separate arcade title, while the latter two Super Star Wars games are sequels, not the series opener.
