The Diary of a Young Girl
Answer
The Diary of a Young Girl
The Diary of a Young Girl was written by Anne Frank while she hid from Nazi persecution in Amsterdam.
Anne Frank began writing in a diary on 12 June 1942, shortly before her family went into hiding. The Frank family and four other people concealed themselves in rooms behind Otto Frank’s business premises, known as the Secret Annex. Anne continued writing until the group was arrested on 4 August 1944.
Anne died at Bergen-Belsen in early 1945. Her father, Otto Frank, was the only member of the immediate family to survive the concentration camps. He edited and published Anne’s writings in Dutch in 1947. The English edition first appeared in 1952, and the diary became one of the best-known personal accounts of the Holocaust.
