Where is the Chevrolet Corvette assembled?
Answer
Bowling Green, Kentucky
Answer
Bowling Green, Kentucky
The Chevrolet Corvette is assembled in Bowling Green, Kentucky. General Motors has built Corvettes at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant since 1981.
The plant became the Corvette’s long-term home after production moved through earlier facilities. The first 300 Corvettes were hand-built in Flint, Michigan, in 1953, and production moved to St. Louis, Missouri, for the following year. Bowling Green then became the dedicated Corvette assembly site.
The Kentucky plant is closely associated with the model and the surrounding Corvette community. It also houses specialized production operations, including the Performance Build Center, where certain high-performance Corvette engines have been assembled.
The historical distinction matters: Bowling Green is the current and long-standing assembly location, but it was not the birthplace of the Corvette. Flint and St. Louis are correct answers only for earlier production periods, not for the modern Corvette.
