Where did Starbucks open its first Reserve Roastery in 2014?
Answer
Seattle
Answer
Seattle
Starbucks opened its first Reserve Roastery in Seattle in 2014.
The Seattle Reserve Roastery opened in December 2014 in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. It was designed as an immersive coffee destination where visitors could watch beans being roasted, learn about coffee production, and experience rare Starbucks Reserve coffees.
A Roastery is different from an ordinary Starbucks café. It combines retail, roasting, education, food, and beverage service in a larger showcase environment. The Seattle location helped launch a global Roastery concept that later reached cities including Shanghai, Milan, New York, and Tokyo.
The Reserve brand focuses on small-lot and higher-end coffees, while most Starbucks stores serve the company’s broader everyday menu. The Roastery therefore represents a specialty and experiential side of Starbucks rather than simply a larger conventional café.
