Where did 2017 NFL first round draft pick Mitchell Trubisky play college football?
Answer
North Carolina
Answer
North Carolina
Mitchell Trubisky played college football at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, representing the North Carolina Tar Heels. He joined UNC under head coach Larry Fedora and played there from 2013 through 2016, becoming the team’s starting quarterback in 2016.
Trubisky had limited playing time during his first three seasons behind established quarterbacks, but he became one of the nation’s most productive passers as a junior. In 2016, he completed 68.9% of his passes for 3,468 yards, 28 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. His performance made him a leading NFL prospect.
A common mix-up is confusing North Carolina with North Carolina State, another ACC football program in the same state. Trubisky played for North Carolina, whose teams are known as the Tar Heels. He entered the 2017 NFL Draft after his junior season and was selected second overall by the Chicago Bears.
