When did Pokémon Pokopia first become available worldwide?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Pokopia first became available worldwide on March 5, 2026.

The date was the game’s global launch day for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo’s sales announcement measured the first four days from this worldwide release and reported more than 2.2 million copies sold during that opening period.

Pokopia was announced earlier, on September 12, 2025, during a Nintendo Direct presentation. That announcement revealed the concept of playing as a human-shaped Ditto and restoring an empty landscape with Pokémon. Announcement and release dates are therefore separate facts.

The date can also be confused with later content. The first Expansion Pass area, Bubbly Basin, launched on August 5, 2026, several months after the base game. March 5 refers to the original game, not its downloadable content.
