What years did Frank Lampard win the Chelsea Player of the Year award?

Frank Lampard won the Chelsea Player of the Year award in 2004, 2005 and 2009. The honour reflected his importance to Chelsea during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Lampard’s first two awards came as Chelsea developed into a Premier League powerhouse under manager José Mourinho. In 2004–05, he scored 19 goals in all competitions and helped Chelsea win their first league title in 50 years. He retained the award in 2005 after another outstanding season and a second consecutive league championship.

His third Chelsea Player of the Year award arrived in 2009. That season, Lampard remained a major creative and scoring force from midfield, while Chelsea won the FA Cup. He also became known for remarkably consistent goalscoring, eventually becoming Chelsea’s all-time leading scorer.
