The United States Semiquincentennial coinage consists of coins struck in 2026.
The U.S. Mint issued commemorative coinage to recognize the 250th anniversary of American independence. Such coins are part of a long U.S. tradition in which special designs mark national anniversaries, institutions, historical events, or civic themes.
The best-known earlier comparison is the 1976 Bicentennial coinage, which included special quarter, half-dollar, and dollar designs. Those coins were marked with the dual date 1776–1976 and circulated widely alongside ordinary coinage.
Semiquincentennial coins are distinct from the 2025 Army anniversary parade and from ordinary circulating money issued without a special anniversary design. The year 2026 identifies the national 250th-anniversary coin program itself.
